Oaxaca: Cantina Photography Walking Tour

Capture candid moments in Oaxaca's cantinas and streets on a photography walking tour. Get tips on photographing indoors in low light and learn to create memorable images with your camera or phone.
Meet your guide at a Cantina where we can have a drink go over the plan for the tour
We will go over some tips and tricks for photographing indoors.
Then set off on a walking tour of some Oaxaca's cantinas. Learn how to photograph indoors in low light to capture moments without using flash.

Visit a number of Oaxacan cantinas spending approximately a half hour in each cantina. Focus on capturing candid moments without being obtrusive in spaces.

Along the way, have opportunities to capture some of the sights of this amazing city as you walk from cantina to cantina, including taking a shortcut through Mercado Benito Juárez and through the Zócalo
Participants are encouraged to share their photos of other participants with them.

This is an ideal tour if its your first time in Oaxaca or a seasoned visitor where you get to visit some places that are not on the typical trail.

We meet at Casa Mezcales at 9 am and have a 'chela' or soft drink
There we will go over the plan for the tour and get some tips and tricks for photographing indoors.
From there we will take a 'shortcut' through Mercado Benito Juárez on our way to Surperior, a 5 minute walk.
Here we can have another beer or soft drink and a quick review of photos
Next is a 10 to 15 minute walk through the famous Zócalo and on to our 3 rd cantina , Casa Porfirio. We can take a little time to grab some photographs of the Zócalo,
In Casa Porfirio we can have another drink or coffee take photos
Finally a 10 minute walk to Fitos to round off the tour.
Fitos has some traditional 'botanas' which are typical cantina foods . so if anyone wants to order food or, they can

Food and drinks are not included as people have different tastes
For reference a Corona or Victoria is approx 40 pesos
Coke etc are approx 40 pesos
Mezcal, well there are so many varieties it would be impossible to list them all.

Please bring cash as some cantinas do not accept cards
And they do not split group tabs
