Begin your adventure with a drive from Ulaanbaatar to the Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Stop for lunch before visiting a nomadic family and riding a horse to the Ulaan Tsutgalan Waterfall. Spend the night with the nomadic family, experiencing their way of life.
Travel to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire. Visit the Erdene Zuu Monastery, one of Mongolia’s oldest Buddhist sites, and explore the Kharkhorin Museum and ruins. Spend the night in a traditional ger (yurt) guesthouse with modern amenities.
After breakfast, head to the Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, where desert, steppe, and mountain landscapes meet. Meet a local family and learn about their traditional nomadic lifestyle. Enjoy a camel riding experience and spend the night in a traditional ger with a nomadic herder family.
Dive into the world of Mongolian cuisine in a local home just near Elsen Tasarkhai. Step into a traditional Ger home, otherwise known as a Tent Home, and learn to make typical Mongolian dishes such as homemade noodles and steamed big dumplings from scratch and meat pockets like Khuushuur. Discover Mongolian customs and get to know your local family as you cook and enjoy a delicious meal.
