Experience an adventurous 6-day journey through the remote landscapes of Mongolia’s Khentii Mountains, combining horseback trekking, mountain hiking and camping in the wilderness. The highlight of the journey is the ascent of Asralt Peak, the highest summit of the Khentii Mountains at 2,799 meters.
Travel deep into the mountains on horseback, following remote trails through forests, mountain valleys and open grasslands. Horses carry equipment into the wilderness, allowing you to experience the landscape without the need for long-distance trekking on the second day.
On the summit day, ride toward the mountain before continuing on foot to reach the summit of Asralt Peak. From the top, enjoy wide views across the surrounding Khentii Mountains. After the climb, return to camp by horseback and spend another night surrounded by Mongolia’s vast wilderness and star-filled skies.
The journey also offers a comfortable introduction to Mongolian travel, with stays in heated tourist ger camps and a hotel in Ulaanbaatar alongside two nights of wilderness camping. On the return journey, explore the famous sights of Terelj National Park, including Turtle Rock and Aryabal Temple, before returning to Ulaanbaatar.
This experience is designed for active travelers who want to combine a genuine mountain challenge with horseback travel and Mongolia’s spectacular natural landscapes.

This active trekking and horseback tour requires good physical fitness. The summit hike covers 6–8 km over uneven mountain terrain. Weather can change quickly, so bring suitable clothing and rain protection. Riding experience is not required, but participants must follow the guide’s safety instructions
