We are gonna have the yummiest time, and experience the Quintessential Dutch feeling of Gezellig, as we explore the cozy canals, Dutch Vegetarian specialities, & historic sights and market squares of the home of Delft Blue Pottery, in Delft, the Royal City of the Netherlands, where I, your tour guide, Starr, call home, after my move here from Florida! We'll have the happiest meet up start with a taste of a welcome vegetarian sandwich and fresh squeezed juice, as we embark on our stroll to the historic square in the heart of Delft, with the most precious glimpse of a windmill, Molen de Roos right in our initial view as we step out into Delft! The photo ops as we cross Delft's oldest canal and street as we enter Oude Delft, abound! A photo with the 780 year old Gothic Brick Bell Tower on the canal's horizon behind us is certainly a must stop. But we have a yummy destination that calls us louder than the tower's melodious bells, it's a stop in the nearly 1,000 year old thursday Delft traditional market (special events or severe weather may close the market, due to no fault of my own, however I do promise you just as much yumminess and historic goodness, should the Thursday market unexpectantly not take place.(If there are itinerary changes you may accept or receive a refund) Its market fresh Stroopwafel time....& THIS is gonna be hot off of the waffel press...lekkkker!!! This Dutch delicacy is savored as we take in the majesty of the main square that hosts our Stroopwafel stop, & we glance upon the New Church, a place where every member of the Royal Family has been burried, wonder at the ritz of the City Hall, pass the location of what was Vermeer's childhood home, & perhaps we may even pass a Girl with a Pearl Earring! Everything is cuter in Delft Blue, as we take a walk through it's speciality shop, followed by a visit to Delft's oldest shop featuring healing goods, a traditional sample treat & a few tales to be told by the resident "Chemists". A star of the show follows, with the best Sandwich in Delft, which we will enjoy trying next at Broodje Delft, perhaps you will enjoy a brief pop in to the "Target" of the Netherlands for a bathroom break at HEMA, while we await our freshly made Veggie Broodjes! Let's enter and admire the large stained glass windows within the active Maria van Jessekerk Church. It's time to say YES, to some piping hot poffertjes...with powered sugar oh yum! The coziest place where we will next warmly gather features a savory dutch fried snack, a Cheese Kroketten ....along with the most famous Dutch Appel Taart in all of the Netherlands. Oh, this will be the spot you will want to linger in, for sure! Dutch Gezellig, you've felt it here in historic Delft, and you will leave with it gently & warmly reminding you of all of it's cozy wonders, history, and delicasies, for the entire rest of your adventure in Holland!
