Begin your day with pickup from Tram Stop 2, Cathedral Square, Christchurch. Journey through the ancient volcanic landscapes of Banks Peninsula, enjoying scenic stops at the Sign of the Takahe, Lake Ellesmere, and Little River. Pause at the Hilltop lookout for sweeping views over Akaroa Harbour, nestled within a vast volcanic crater.
Arrive in the historic French village of Akaroa, where you’ll have time to explore boutique shops, charming streetscapes, and learn about the area’s whaling heritage. Next, board an award-winning Black Cat nature cruise around Akaroa Harbour, searching for Hector’s dolphins, Little Blue Penguins, seabirds, and dramatic volcanic sea cliffs.
