Discover the geothermal wonders of Wai-o-Tapu Thermal Wonderland and explore the Redwood Forest. Choose between the Treetop Walk or a relaxing Forest Spa experience.
Pass by hectares of kiwifruit orchards, small kiwi towns, beautiful lakes and waterfalls as you drive to the nearby town of Rotorua. See and learn about the real New Zealand as you explore the hinterland in a small group.
Enjoy local treats and hear stories of “Kiwi” culture and history as your guide shows you through what we believe is the very best of New Zealand’s geothermal experiences: the amazing Wai-o-Tapu Thermal Wonderland. Take time to explore this dramatic and beautiful park (entrance included), and witness the famous Lady Knox Geyser, shooting more than 10 meters in the air. We take you to see the most spectacular of the bubbling mud pools that only locals know about, on our way back to Rotorua (included).
Next, visit the awe-inspiring Redwood Forest. Take a walk together and experience the cool and calm created by this unique ecosystem. Be astounded by the size of the trees and enjoy being at one with nature in this stunning area.
Then, choose:
1. Get up into the trees by choosing to do the Canopy Treetop Walk Option (extra charge). Traverse the swing bridges and walkways high in the forest, and learn more about this unique ecosystem. This is an outstanding activity, and one of our absolute favourites in the region.
2. For those not so keen on heights, or just wanting a luxury experience, take time out in a private forest spa (extra charge), complete with drinks on tap. What a way to wind up your day in nature!
3. For a free option, simply soak your feet in a footspa or go for a forest ground walk.
Make your way back to Tauranga in plenty of time for the ship, passing by farms and lakes as you travel.

We will be standing by the flagpole just outside the Cruise Port Exit. We will have a sign with "A Day in the Bay" and your name on it. Please be there 20 mins prior to the trip leaving
Our tours are all tailored for cruise passengers, and we will meet you at the port. We time our trips to fit your docking time, and will have you back with plenty of time to spare.
Unlike many of the big bus tours, we provide a fully guided small group experience and use only luxury Mercedes Vans with panoramic windows.
