Description

Explore Rangitoto & Motutapu Islands on a guided e-Bike tour from Auckland. Discover rugged lava fields, the world's largest pōhutukawa forest, rich Māori heritage and enjoy panoramic views.
Meet your accredited guide at the Rangitoto Ferry Terminal and set off on a guided e-Bike adventure across two of Auckland’s most extraordinary islands: Rangitoto and Motutapu.

Explore Rangitoto, Auckland’s largest volcanic cone and New Zealand’s youngest island, and discover dramatic coastal and volcanic landscapes, rugged solidified lava fields and lava tubes, regenerating and mature native forest including the world’s largest pōhutukawa forest, endemic birdlife and spectacular city and sea views.

Then, journey across Motutapu, one of the oldest and most culturally significant islands in the Hauraki Gulf, rich in Māori heritage, idyllic bays, and expansive views of the Hauraki Gulf and islands.

This small group guided tour combines the fun of e-Biking with natural heritage, cultural connection and breathtaking scenery. Along the way, your accredited kaiārahi (guide) will share knowledge and stories of the geology, ecology, native plant and birdlife, colourful history and cultural heritage and mythology of the islands.

Owned and operated by Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki, Auckland’s original Māori inhabitant iwi (tribe) and tangata whenua (people of the land) of these islands, this is more than an e-Bikle tour.

This authentic and engaging guided tour gives you the opportunity to experience Rangitoto and Motutapu Islands through the dramatic landscapes, unique nature, fascinating stories, and authentic perspectives of the people who know them deeply, making this one of Auckland’s most unique adventures.
