For three months a year, Dhofar turns green — and the mountains come alive with water. Your own private 4WD driver collects you from your Salalah hotel in a premium air-conditioned vehicle and climbs into the mist, where the khareef monsoon has transformed the landscape: waterfalls pouring off every cliff at Wadi Darbat, the Tawi Attair sinkhole filled and roaring, and the Jebel Samhan plateau wrapped in cool cloud. Your English-, Arabic- or Hindi-speaking driver-guide knows the seasonal roads and keeps the day entirely yours.
This is not the year-round mountain safari — this is Dhofar's monsoon at its peak: stand at waterfall viewpoints as the water thunders down, watch camels graze in the green valleys, and photograph the sinkhole from the "anti-gravity" viewpoint with mist drifting through the frame. Completely private, completely at your pace.
Available June to September only — when the monsoon leaves, so does this tour.
