Explore the Andes on an ATV tour from Cusco to Rainbow Mountain. Learn about the geological formation of the mountain and discover the Red Valley, a less-visited area with stunning views.
Begin your adventure with an early 4:00 AM pickup in Cusco, conveniently from your hotel or a central meeting point. We start with a 1.5-hour drive to a scenic location for a buffet breakfast, giving you energy for the day ahead. After breakfast, we continue 1.5 hours to our base camp, the starting point for your ATV adventure.
At the base, you’ll receive a comprehensive safety briefing and get equipped with helmets, gloves, and safety gear. Enjoy a 15-minute practice session to get comfortable with the ATV before embarking on a 45-minute to 1-hour ride through the Red Valley. Along the way, you’ll see alpacas and llamas, stop for photos, and have the opportunity to connect with local communities, learning about their traditions and lifestyle.
Next, we reach the highest point of the ride and begin a 30-minute hike to the famous Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). Here, you’ll discover the minerals that create the mountain’s stunning colors, take plenty of photos, rest, and recharge before heading back.
After the hike, return to your ATVs for the ride back to base, enjoying a spectacular sunset along the way. Once back, hop on the van to a nearby restaurant for a hearty buffet lunch, giving you time to relax and refuel. On the return to Cusco, you can rest or take a nap during the drive. The tour concludes with a drop-off at Plaza de Armas, perfectly located for dinner or exploring the city center.
