The Moche and Chimú cultures were two prominent pre-Columbian civilizations that thrived in northern Peru and are also recognized for being the home of the traditional Peruvian dance, the marinera.
The excursion starts around 10:00 am, with the meeting point at the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo. From there we will head southeast to explore the Moche countryside. Our first stop will be at the Huacas de la Luna, where we will immerse ourselves in the fascinating details of the Moche culture, admiring its polychrome murals and frieze reliefs, an experience that will surely captivate you. Afterwards, we will head to Huaca Chica in Moche Pueblo, where you will have free time to enjoy a meal in one of the nearby restaurants. After recharging your batteries, we will witness an equestrian show and the emblematic Peruvian marinera dance. Afterwards, we will head to Chan Chan, the impressive adobe citadel, the largest in the Americas and dedicated to the god of the sea. After exploring this archaeological complex, we will head to the coast to enjoy a free hour at Huanchaco Beach, where you can watch the sunset or take a stroll along the tourist pier. Finally, we will return to Trujillo, concluding the excursion around 18:00 hours.
