Immerse yourself in the Amazon Rainforest on a 4-day Manu National Park tour from Cusco. Stay in jungle lodges, enjoy guided hikes and boat excursions, and experience unforgettable wildlife.
Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO – WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS – NIGHT EXCURSION
Early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco around 5:00 a.m. Travel through scenic Andean landscapes toward the folkloric town of Paucartambo, with time for a short walk and optional breakfast.
Continue to Acjanaco Pass, the official entrance to Manu National Park. From here, begin exploring the cloud forest, home to species such as the Andean cock-of-the-rock, quetzals, toucans, and monkeys.
Arrive at the rainforest lodge in the afternoon and settle in. In the evening, enjoy an optional night walk to search for frogs, insects, spiders, snakes, and other nocturnal creatures.

DAY 2: HUMMINGBIRD GARDEN – MACHUWASI OXBOW LAKE – NIGHT WALK
In the morning, visit a hummingbird garden, where multiple species can be observed at close range. Afterwards, travel by boat to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, hike through rainforest trails in search of monkeys, hoatzins (prehistoric birds), horned screamers, and oropendolas. Continue to Machuwasi Oxbow Lake, where you’ll explore the lake on traditional rafts and observe birds from a viewing tower.
After dinner, join a guided night excursion to discover the Amazon’s nocturnal wildlife, including owls, tarantulas, frogs, scorpions, and more.

DAY 3: PARROT CLAY LICK – PRIMARY FOREST – NIGHT EXCURSION
Start the day with a boat ride to a parrot and macaw clay lick (collpa), where dozens of colorful birds gather to feed on mineral-rich clay—one of the most iconic wildlife spectacles in the Amazon.
After breakfast, explore the primary rainforest on a guided walk among giant ceiba trees, searching for monkeys, toucans, insects, and medicinal plants. After lunch, enjoy a natural jungle clay therapy, followed by a refreshing swim in the Manu River.
In the evening, head out once more for a night walk, focusing on insects and other nocturnal species.

DAY 4: BOAT RIDE – WILDLIFE RESCUE CENTER (optional) – CUSCO
After breakfast, enjoy a final boat ride through the rainforest waterways before traveling to Atalaya Port, where ground transport awaits.
Optional visit to a wildlife rescue center, where you can learn about conservation efforts and see rescued Amazonian animals up close.
Return to Cusco with stops for lunch and restrooms, arriving at approximately 4:00 p.m.
