Description

Discover the history and evolution of the URO People, their history and customs, panoramic views, and their evolution and adaptation to tourism.
This tour lets you discover the history, social organization, and evolution of the Uro people through a visit to two different areas of Lake Titicaca. The experience kicks off with a sail to Uros Titino, a quieter area where traditional practices are still preserved in the construction of floating islands, the use of totora, and community life. Here you'll learn about its origins, construction methods, and the cultural importance of the environment.

Then you'll head to Uros Centro, an area closer to the city where you can see how families have incorporated tourism into their economy. This contrast helps you understand the transition from an ancestral way of life to coexistence with modern tourism.

During the tour, you'll have the chance to chat with the locals, walk on the islands, learn about their family organization, and understand how the Uro culture is still alive. The tour includes sailing, island tickets, and a typical lunch prepared by a local family. It doesn't include the totora raft ride or kayak use, which are optional.
