Step back in time to explore Romania’s most iconic castles, medieval towns, and immerse yourself in pristine nature while meeting the furry locals (safely!) on this 2-day guided tour from Bucharest.
Your journey begins with a scenic drive to Peleș Castle, nestled in the Carpathian Mountains. Built in the 1800s by Romania’s first king, this architectural gem boasts ornate rooms, a remarkable art collection, and a fascinating weapons exhibition.
Next, visit the legendary Bran Castle, famously linked to Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Perched dramatically on a hilltop, the 12th-century fortress immerses you in dark myths and mysterious legends — all while our expert local guide reveals its true historical roots. Here, you will have time for lunch.
The final stop of day 1 is Brașov, a charming medieval town rich with atmosphere. Stroll through cobbled streets, admire colorful houses, visit the Black Church, and see the remnants of the city’s medieval fortifications. It's a perfect blend of history, architecture, and local charm. Here, you'll spend the night.
In the morning of day 2, you will drive to the Transfagarasan highway up to the top of the famous winding road (or take the cable car) where you'll enjoy fabulous views and lunch by Balea lake. Then you will drive down the other side of the Transfagarasan where you will enjoy breathtaking nature, castle views, and exciting bear encounters before visiting the Curtea de Arges Monastery, a spiritual and historical landmark of Romania.
Return to Bucharest in the afternoon.
