Hike the Congo Nile Trail on a 5-day guided tour from Kigali. Explore fishing villages, coffee farms, and green hills, and connect with local communities along the way.
Begin your adventure with a pickup from Kigali and drive to Gisenyi. Enjoy scenic countryside views along the way. On arrival, check in and meet your Congo Nile Trail guide for a full briefing and preparation.
On the first day, begin the trail along Lake Kivu, passing fishing villages, coffee farms, and green hills with beautiful lake views. Spend the night in Cyimbiri.
On the second day, continue through rural landscapes and welcoming communities, with peaceful paths and island views across the lake. Spend the night in Kinunu.
On the third day, enjoy a scenic day through rolling hills and forested sections, offering elevated viewpoints over Lake Kivu. Spend the night in Musasa.
On the fourth day, hike through one of the most remote and authentic sections of the trail, rich in nature, birdlife, and quiet countryside. Spend the night in Bumba.
On the final day, hike to Kibuye (Karongi), completing your Congo Nile Trail journey. Arrive in the afternoon and relax by the lake.
