This tour will take you to discover the colonial charm of Suchitoto, the magic of indigo in a workshop with artisans, the gastronomy, and the serenity of Lake Suchitlán on a boat ride.
Early in the morning, we will depart from your hotel in San Salvador on a scenic transfer. During breakfast, the tour guide will share stories and anecdotes about the region, setting the stage for the trip to Suchitoto.
Our first stop will be in the historic center of this charming colonial town. We will walk through its cobbled streets, visit the Church of Santa Lucía, and enjoy spectacular views of Lake Suchitlán.
Then, we will have a unique experience in a January workshop with local artisans. Here, each traveler will be able to dye their own piece of fabric using this ancient pre-Columbian technique and take home a souvenir made with their own hands.
The morning continues with a tasting of typical snacks such as rice pupusas, riguas, or empanadas, followed by a traditional lunch overlooking the lake, with options of fresh fish, tour guide chicken, or vegetarian dishes.
In the afternoon, we will board a boat to explore Lake Suchitlán.
We will sail among natural islands, observe migratory birds, and learn about the biodiversity of this reserve. A peaceful experience surrounded by nature.
Back on dry land, we will enjoy a cup of artisanal Salvadoran coffee in a café overlooking the lake, just in time for sunset, to end the day with the best view.
Finally, we will return to San Salvador, arriving around 6:00 p.m., with our hearts full of culture, flavors, and unique landscapes.
