Description

Discover the beauty of northwestern Slovenia on a full-day journey from Ljubljana. Explore the Julian Alps, the Soča Valley, and the Peričnik Waterfall. Small groups up to 8 pax.
Begin your adventure in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia’s renowned Alpine resort nestled among the peaks of the Julian Alps. Surrounded by magnificent mountains, forests, and valleys, Kranjska Gora is the perfect gateway to the spectacular landscapes that await.

From Kranjska Gora, continue into the dramatic Vrata Valley, home to one of Slovenia’s most impressive natural landmarks – Peričnik Waterfall. A short scenic walk brings you to the powerful 52-meter waterfall, where you can experience something truly special: walking behind the cascading water. Feel the spray as the waterfall thunders down the cliffs and admire the rugged Alpine landscape surrounding it.

Return towards Kranjska Gora and stop at the beautiful Lake Jasna, a crystal-clear Alpine lake surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the Julian Alps. Take a peaceful walk along the shore, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and enjoy the spectacular reflections of the surrounding mountains on the water.

The journey then climbs towards the legendary Vršič Pass, the highest mountain pass in Slovenia. The winding mountain road, famous for its numerous hairpin bends, leads through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Julian Alps. As you ascend, the landscape opens into breathtaking views of rugged peaks, deep valleys, and untouched Alpine wilderness.

Crossing Vršič is an experience in itself and marks the transition from the high Alpine world of Kranjska Gora into the spectacular Soča Valley. As you descend towards the valley, the scenery changes dramatically. The emerald-green Soča River becomes the centerpiece of the landscape, flowing through forests, limestone cliffs, and deep mountain valleys.

One of the highlights is Velika Korita Soče (Great Soča Gorge), where the river has carved a spectacular canyon through the surrounding rock. Crystal-clear turquoise pools, narrow passages, and dramatic cliffs make this one of the most remarkable natural attractions in the Soča Valley.

Continue through Trnovo ob Soči towards Kobarid, a historic town surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of the Soča Valley. Kobarid is closely connected with the history of World War I and the Isonzo Front, where some of the most intense mountain battles of the war took place. The combination of extraordinary scenery and fascinating history gives this part of the journey a unique character.

Near Kobarid, discover Napoleon’s Bridge, a historic stone bridge spanning the Soča River. Set against the emerald waters and surrounding mountains, it is both a fascinating piece of local heritage and a spectacular photographic viewpoint.

The adventure continues with a scenic walk towards Kozjak Waterfall, one of the hidden natural gems of the Soča Valley. Following a beautiful trail through the forest and along the river, you will reach a dramatic rocky chamber where the waterfall plunges into a striking turquoise pool.
