On this enigmatic tour, you'll learn about Cuenca's most surprising legends and mysteries, some solved, others not... Welcome!
Folklore, legends, and mysteries are a reality in a city as enigmatic as Cuenca...
We'll start at the Fuente del Pilón, in the Plaza Mayor.
From there, we'll head down to the Pasadizo de las Ánimas, where the first legend awaits us: the ghosts of San Miguel.
The visit will continue through the San Miguel neighborhood, until you reach the church of the same name, and you'll learn how, according to legend, the conquest of Cuenca came about.
Later, we'll head to the Ermita de las Angustias to learn about Cuenca's most famous legend, which inspired Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer to write a story, with a disturbing real-life tale behind it.
We'll head back up to Plaza de San Nicolás to discover the saint's miracles and the legend of the Ojos de la Mora.
Later, we'll cross to the gorge of the Huécar River and learn about a beautiful love story, of which a Christ was a witness to the sad outcome. We'll end up in the Plaza de Mangana, in the heart of the city, between the two gorges, seeing one of the most beautiful landscapes Cuenca has to offer and trying to solve the mystery of the last legend, that of the witches of Mangana, the most terrifying witch legend in the whole city.

It's a good idea to dress warmly in winter and cool in summer.
Good footwear is recommended, such as sneakers or hiking boots, trekking or hiking.
Our meeting point is the Fuente del Pilón, the only fountain in the Plaza Mayor, right in front of the Cathedral, on the façade of the Convento de las Petras and right next to the Globalcaja ATM.
We'll be dressed in yellow, red, white, or black.
