Visit a Sami village and meet our tame reindeer. Encounter Sami people, take a walk with a reindeer, and learn how to throw the lasso. After that we'll enjoy a meal of smoked and fried reindeer meat.
We will pick you up in Kiruna at 10 o'clock and take you to Rávttas, a Sami village 20 minutes from Kiruna. Here you will meet some of our reindeer that we have brought back from the mountains. You will get some insight into the traditional life of the mountain Sami in this fantastic landscape classified as Natura2000. The rich biodiversity in the area is a prerequisite for reindeer, moose, and other animals.
Come close to our reindeer that we have in our corral. Let the old tame reindeer eat from your hand and be mesmerized by the reindeer's big, beautiful eyes. We can take a walk with them in the forest and learn how to throw the lasso like a reindeer herder. But since this is an early autumn or pre-winter tour it is not possible to go reindeer sledding, there is no or too little snow on the ground.
After your reindeer experience, we'll enjoy a meal with ecological, smoked, and fried reindeer meat (suovas), bread, and coffee in the hut. Here you will have the opportunity to ask questions and listen to stories as you relax around the fire.
