Description

Drive your own dog team on a 1 hour dog sledding adventure in the hills north of Fairbanks, Alaska. Learn how to harness a sled dog and mush your own team of Siberian huskies!
Embark on an authentic Alaskan mushing adventure by driving your own dog team.

Family-Friendly Option: Minors are welcome on Private Tours (min 4 guests or monetary equivalent). Public departures are 18+ only.

Learn how to harness a sled dog, and how to slow and stop your team before taking off on a scenic trip that will take you four to six miles round-trip through beautiful old-growth boreal forest to the top of a ridge, where vast panoramic views of the White Mountains and the Chatanika River Valley await.

In this experience, you're not just a passenger; you're actively steering a team of 4-6 dogs across six miles of scenic, winding trails in the hills north of Fairbanks, Alaska.

Before departure, your guide will introduce you to your team and give you a lesson on how to drive the sled. The tour lasts 2-3 hours from arrival to departure, with at least one hour spent on the sled.

We make sure to pause to capture photos along the trail.

No previous mushing experience is required; however, this is an active experience, with about 50% uphill terrain, where you’ll need to assist your dogs by walking or pushing the sled uphill.

If you cannot complete all movements below, you will not be able to join the tour. No refunds are issued if guests arrive and cannot pass this fitness check.

✅ Balance: Stand on each foot for 5 seconds.
✅ Coordination: touch right hand to left foot, then left hand to right foot.
✅ Coordination: Perform five (5) jumping jacks.
✅ Mobility: Bend down and touch your toes (knees may bend).
✅ Mobility: Lie on your stomach and stand up within 10 seconds
