Unlike large group trail rides, your experience is completely private and reserved exclusively for you and your party. This allows our guides to adjust the pace of the ride to your comfort and riding ability, making it an enjoyable experience for both first-time riders and those with previous horseback riding experience.

Your adventure begins at our stables in Beausejour, where you will meet your guide and be introduced to one of our well-cared-for horses. Before setting off, your guide will provide a brief orientation and basic riding instructions to help you feel comfortable and confident in the saddle.

From the stables, ride through the peaceful countryside and along scenic trails as you make your way toward Saint Lucia's beautiful Atlantic coastline. Along the way, enjoy views of the surrounding landscape, tropical vegetation and the natural beauty of the island away from the busier tourist areas.

Once you reach the coast, experience the highlight of the tour — riding your horse along the beach with the Atlantic Ocean beside you. Depending on sea and weather conditions, guests may also have the opportunity to take their horse into the ocean for a refreshing horseback swim. The safety of our guests and horses always comes first, so entering the water is entirely dependent on conditions on the day of your ride.

Your private guide will be with you throughout the experience to assist you, answer questions and help capture photos and memories along the way. Because the ride is private, there is no pressure to keep up with a large group, allowing you to relax and enjoy the experience at a pace that suits you.

Please remember that this is an authentic outdoor experience in a natural environment. Trail, beach and ocean conditions can change throughout the year. Sargassum seaweed may occasionally be present along sections of the Atlantic coastline, particularly during periods when seasonal sargassum affects Saint Lucia and other Caribbean islands. The amount of sargassum varies considerably from day to day and is determined by ocean currents, wind and weather conditions. Its presence is a natural occurrence and is outside of Sandy Hoofs St. Lucia's control.

For the comfort and welfare of our horses, there is a maximum rider weight of 220 lbs (approximately 100 kg). Guests are weighed privately before riding to ensure that the appropriate horse is assigned and that our animal-welfare standards are maintained.
