Meet your guide at Zurich’s train station and catch a local tram to the starting point of the hike – the 870 m/ 2850 ft home mountain of the city of Zurich. From there, see an imposing view over the city below. Take a quick detour to the observation deck at the restaurant Uto Kulm for some more imposing views over the city, the lake, and the Swiss Alps.

Set off at a gentle pace along the walking trail, following the Path of the Planets and noticing interesting facts about the solar system along the way. Each meter you walk corresponds to a distance of 1 million km / 622,000 miles.

Following the edge of a forest and crossing meadows and farmland, the route takes you high above Lake Zürich spreading out below you as you walk, picturesque views accompanying you most the way. Finally, reach the end point of the hike and reward yourself with refreshments on a terrace with a magnificent view before catching the only cable car to be found in the canton of Zürich. At the base station, it is a short walk to the local train station for a short ride back to Zürich’s main train station.
