Explore Braunwald and Glarus on a 7-day hike from Zurich. Walk 4-6h daily through Oberblegisee, Panorama Trail, and Seerenbach Falls. A perfect alpine adventure for active travelers!
Day 0: Arrival in the Clouds
Train from Zurich to Linthal, then ascend via the panoramic funicular (free with pass). Settle into the car-free village and enjoy a sunset stroll along the Panoramaweg.
Day 1: Oberblegisee Lake Hike (4.5–5 hours)
Follow the trail via Grotzenbüel to the mystical Oberblegisee. After relaxing by the water, continue to Brunnenberg and descend to Luchsingen. Return to Braunwald by train and funicular.
Day 2: Panorama Ridge Hike (4.5–5 hours)
Hike from the hostel up to Grotzenbüel. Follow the Panorama Trail along high ridges with epic views of the Tödi peak. Loop toward Gumen and descend via Braunwaldalp to complete the circuit.
Day 3: Glarus Heritage & Wellness (Rainy Day Option)
Explore the capital, Glarus, and its unique grid layout.
Culture: Visit the Freulerpalast in Näfels (CHF 12/8, not included).
Wellness: Head to Linth Arena for the pool (CHF 9) or sauna/hammam (approx. CHF 20) (not included).
Return via Linthal in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Nussbüel Meadows & Waterfall (3.5–4 hours)
Hike through lush meadows to Nussbüel. Descend toward the valley floor to witness the thundering Berglistüber Waterfall. Return to Linthal on foot or by bus, then take the funicular back up.
Day 5: Grand Linth Gorge Explorer (4.5–5 hours)
Transport: Funicular to Linthal, then Bus 505 to Tierfehd (free with pass).
Hike: Walk the zig-zagging path to the historic Pantenbrugg bridges over a 1.4 km deep gorge.
Loop: Continue to the Limmernbahn station for alpine views, returning via Hinter Sand. Catch the bus back or walk the flat 7 km path to the station.
Day 6: Riviera Walensee & Seerenbach Falls (4–5 hours)
Walk from Ziegelbrücke to Weesen, then follow the "Riviera" trail via Lehni to the Seerenbach Falls (Switzerland’s highest). Descend to Strahlegg and walk back via the cliff-carved Betliserstrasse.
Optional: Boat from Betlis to Weesen (CHF 10, not included). Notify organization for booking; last boat approx. 16:45.
Day 7: Departure
Final funicular descent to Linthal and train return to Zurich.

Timing: Check the ferry and bus schedule carefully!
1. Zurich Airport to Zürich HB
Take any frequent train (S-Bahn or IR) from the airport to Zürich Hauptbahnhof (HB).
Travel time: ~10 minutes.
2. Zürich HB to Linthal Braunwaldbahn
Take the direct S25 (Glarner Sprinter) toward Linthal.
Exit at: "Linthal Braunwaldbahn" (the stop right at the funicular base).
Travel time: ~1 hour 35 minutes.
3. Funicular to Braunwald
Board the Braunwaldbahn (Standseilbahn). It departs every 30 minutes (at :25 and :55 past the hour).
Travel time: ~7 minutes.
4. Arrival at Alpinaweg 3
Braunwald is car-free.
From the mountain station, it is a 2-minute walk (approx. 100 meters).
Head southeast toward the village center to reach Adrenalin.
