Discover the Tunisian Sahara on a full-day trip with Matmata, Ksar Ghilane, and lunch included.
Explore the iconic landscapes of the Tunisian Sahara on a one day trip from Djerba. This experience takes you through Berber villages, oases, sand dunes, and historical sights, combining cultural discoveries, natural landscapes, and things to do in the desert.

After being picked up from your hotel, you'll travel to La Chaussée Romaine, the ancient road connecting Djerba to the mainland, before continuing on to Matmata. This village is renowned for its troglodyte dwellings carved into the rock. You will visit a traditional house and be welcomed by a Berber family over tea.


The route continues towards the oasis of Ksar Ghilane, one of the most famous in the Tunisian Sahara. After a traditional lunch served in a restaurant or camp, you will have free time to explore the oasis and its natural hot spring, where swimming is possible depending on the weather conditions.

The afternoon is dedicated to things to do in the desert. A dromedary ride will allow you to appreciate the dune landscapes before an ATV excursion to the Roman fort of Tisavar, a historic relic located in the heart of the desert.

Before heading back to Djerba, you will enjoy Saharan tea with local dates.
