Explore the Highlands & Isle of Skye in 3 Days

Day 1: Glasgow – Loch Lomond – Glencoe – Glenfinnan – Inverness

Your 3 day tour kicks off as we leave Glasgow and head into the beautiful Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Our first stop of the day is conservation village of Luss, located on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. It’s the perfect place to stretch your legs, enjoy the views of the loch and Ben Lomond.

As we travel further north, the landscapes really start to open up. We cross the wild and remote Rannoch Moor, with its wide open spaces, peat bogs, and rolling hills. Your driver-guide will point out Buachaille Etive Mòr, the famous mountain seen in Skyfall, where James Bond and M head towards the legendary Skyfall Lodge.

Next, we arrive in the dramatic valley of Glencoe. Take time to soak up the incredible scenery while hearing the tragic story of the Glencoe Massacre of 1692. It’s one of the most haunting moments in Scottish history and gives this beautiful place an unforgettable sense of atmosphere.

We then pass through Fort William, sitting at the foot of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain, before continuing to Glenfinnan. Here, you can walk up to a nearby viewpoint for amazing views over Loch Shiel and the sweeping curve of the Glenfinnan Viaduct. This is where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard in 1745, starting the Jacobite Rising. Today, the viaduct is best known as the Hogwarts Express route from the Harry Potter films — a great mix of history and movie magic.

We then drive back towards Fort William hopefully getting views of Ben Nevis and head north through the Great Glen and alongside The Caledonian Canal when we finish the day in Inverness, where you’ll stay overnight in accommodation you’ve arranged separately, as accommodation is not included.
