Departing from Cardiff, the tour begins with views of the iconic Cardiff castle before travelling to the impressive Caerphilly Castle, the largest castle in Wales and one of the most formidable medieval strongholds in Europe. Surrounded by dramatic water defences and towers, it offers a powerful introduction to Wales’ rich and turbulent past.
From here, the landscape opens up as we journey into Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, where a highlight of the day awaits. Enjoy a nostalgic steam train ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway, following part of the historic Brecon and Merthyr line.
