Description
As a child was raised in Hue, the cuisine here is my pride and childhood memories. Through this tour, I want to share that pride with you through real local spots that only I know. :)
As a child was raised in Huế, I grew up eating these dishes almost every day. This tour is not just about food - it’s about sharing the flavors, hidden stories, and pride of my hometown with you. :)
We begin with Bánh mì thịt xíu, a Huế-style braised pork bánh mì that you can only truly find here. Unlike the versions in other cities, it’s smaller, packed with deeply marinated pork, and rich with layers of seasoning in every bite.
Then we move on to Huế’s traditional cakes: bánh bèo, bánh nậm, and bánh lọc. These delicate steamed rice cakes were influenced by both royal and local cuisine in the past, and today they are signature dishes of the city.
After that, we enjoy Cơm Hến - tiny mussel rice - one of the most popular local breakfasts or afternoon light meal. Simple, bold, and full of texture.
We’ll take a short walk across the iconic Trường Tiền Bridge to rest and prepare for the main dish, while enjoying views of the Hương (Perfume) River.
Before the highlight, we taste chè Huế, the city’s famous sweet dessert - especially mung bean and tapioca coconut, known for its balanced sweetness and refined flavors.
Then comes the star: Bún Bò Huế. The broth is rich, deep, slightly spicy, and intensely aromatic - completely different from versions you may have tried elsewhere.
To finish the tour, we experience “nhậu” - Vietnamese drinking culture - at a real local, family-run restaurant. We’ll sit down like locals and enjoy cold Huda Beer (or any drink you prefer), surrounded by residents. It's a real local place, where local people actually gather, drink, eat, and connect.
This is more than a food tour. It’s Huế through the eyes of someone who calls it home. That's how I call it :)
