Riding in buggies and 4x4 quad bikes, we set off from Praia City towards the east coast of Santiago, where the island reveals its wildest and most unspoiled side.

Our first stop takes us to the tranquil São Francisco Beach, a beautiful cove with golden sand and open sea.
In addition to its natural scenery, this beach is home to an important sea-turtle hatchery and reserve, a symbol of Cape Verde’s commitment to environmental conservation. During the right season, you can learn more about the work being done to protect this iconic Atlantic species.

We then continue along the east coast, passing through small fishing communities and arid areas shaped by the wind and the sea. Natural viewpoints offer sweeping vistas of dramatic cliffs and the endless ocean.

As we continue, the landscape becomes increasingly remote until we reach the secluded area of Moia Moia, where the iconic Farol de Leste (East Lighthouse) stands, the solitary guardian of the coastline. Here, the silence is profound, and the Atlantic asserts itself with all its might.

Amid wind, sea, and volcanic rock lies one of Santiago's most authentic and untouched landscapes—perfect for photography, contemplation, and connecting with nature.
