An alternative way to discover the Andes through an experience in Cuyo Chico, an Andean community where traditions, art, and gastronomy are still part of everyday life.
Over 2 days and 1 night, you'll share moments with local families, learn about their customs, and discover ancient techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation.

Day 1: Welcome and time spent with the community

In the afternoon, you will arrive in the Cuyo Chico Community, where you will be welcomed by our local hosts. You'll receive a warm welcome and an introduction to the families taking part in this community tourism experience.

Then you'll settle into the homestays of local families, where you can get an up-close look at their way of life and enjoy a welcoming and authentic atmosphere.

In the evening, you'll share a traditional dinner prepared with local produce.

After dinner, we'll gather visitors around a campfire, where the community's families will share tales, stories, and Andean traditions in a special atmosphere under the Andean sky.

Day 2: Andean landscapes, traditions, and handicrafts

You'll start the morning with a traditional breakfast prepared by the host families.

Afterward, we'll take a hike through the rural landscapes of Cuyo Chico, following paths surrounded by crop fields and enjoying views of the Andean environment, while admiring the Pisac Archaeological Park from our route.

Next, you'll take part in making traditional empanadas, learning about some of the community's culinary preparations and customs.

You'll also have the opportunity to take part in a traditional adobe-making activity, learning how this material is part of the architecture and daily life of Andean communities.

You'll then enjoy a lunch prepared with local, natural produce.

In the afternoon, you'll take part in a pottery-making workshop, where you'll learn traditional techniques and get hands-on experience with this ancient art.

Finally, you'll have free time to peacefully enjoy the scenery, learn more about the community, or buy handicrafts made by the local villagers.

At the end, we'll say goodbye to our hosts and head back, taking with us an up-close and authentic experience of the life, culture, and traditions of Cuyo Chico.
