14-Day Gokyo Lakes Trek with Guide

Trek to the Gokyo Lakes, the highest freshwater lake system in the world. Explore the Gokyo Valley, visit UNESCO sites in Kathmandu, and enjoy stunning views of Everest.
Begin your adventure with a warm welcome at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Settle into your hotel and prepare for the journey ahead.

The next day, explore Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Meet your guide for a trek briefing and finalize your preparations, including obtaining your TIMS card and Sagarmatha National Park permit.

Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After a cup of tea in Lukla, begin your trek to Phakding.

Trek along the banks of the beautiful Dudh Kosi River valley, crossing multiple suspension bridges to enter Sagarmatha National Park. Make a steep climb up to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital, where you’ll witness your first views of Everest.

Spend a day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize. Explore the town, visit the Sherpa Culture Museum, or hike up to the Everest View Hotel for stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.

Leave the main trail to Everest Base Camp and head towards the Gokyo Valley. Cross Mong La Pass and trek through rhododendron forests, passing through Phortse Thanga to reach the small settlement of Dole.

Continue your gradual ascent through alpine terrain, walking along the side of the valley and passing through Labarma and Luza to reach Machhermo, the last major settlement before Gokyo.

Walk alongside the Dudh Koshi River, witnessing the first views of Cho Oyu, and pass the first and second Gokyo Lakes. Arrive at Gokyo village by the third lake.

Climb Gokyo Ri early in the morning to see panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Explore the 4th and 5th Gokyo lakes and enjoy the remaining day capturing moments in Gokyo Village.

Begin your gradual descent through familiar terrain, retracing your steps to Dole.

Continue your descent through rhododendron forests, rejoining the main EBC trail to celebrate dinner in Namche Bazaar.

Pass through Monjo and Phakding, descending to the Dudh Koshi River to return to Lukla. Celebrate your trek completion with your team.

After breakfast, take a morning flight to Kathmandu. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring or shopping for souvenirs.

Finally, transfer to the airport for your return flight.
