Day 1: Journey to Lamjung
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu or Pokhara to Besisahar, the gateway to the Annapurna region. From there, we take a rugged local jeep ride deeper into the mountains to a traditional Gurung village. You'll be welcomed into a local homestay, your home for the next few nights.

Day 2: Village Immersion & Hunt Preparation
Spend the day acclimatizing and immersing yourself in village life. You will meet the honey hunters and the village elder (shaman), who will explain the cultural and spiritual significance of the hunt. You'll see the preparations, from the weaving of bamboo rope ladders to the rituals performed to placate the mountain gods and ensure safety.

Day 3: The Wild Honey Hunt
Today is the main event. After an early breakfast, we will trek through forests to the base of the towering cliffs where the wild Apis laboriosa, the world's largest honeybee, has its nests. From a safe viewing point, you will watch the hunters. Witness the incredible courage of the lead hunter as he descends the cliff on a rope ladder, using only smoke to pacify the bees, before cutting away chunks of the valuable honeycomb.

Day 4: Post-Hunt Traditions & Honey Tasting
Experience the post-hunt atmosphere back in the village. Watch as the honeycomb is divided among the villagers and the precious honey is extracted. You will have the opportunity for a cautious, guided tasting of the fresh honey, which is famous for its medicinal and psychoactive properties. The evening might involve a celebratory meal with the community.

Day 5: Explore the Gurung Heartland
Today, you'll explore the surrounding area with your guide. Hike to a nearby ridge for spectacular views of the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges. Visit the local school, interact with the villagers, and gain a deeper understanding of their self-sufficient lifestyle, culture, and customs.

Day 6: Trek Down and Return to Besisahar
After saying goodbye to your host family and the village, you will begin your trek back towards the road. It's a final opportunity to soak in the beautiful landscapes of the Himalayan foothills before taking a local jeep back to Besisahar for a more comfortable night in a local hotel.

Day 7: Drive to Kathmandu/Pokhara
Enjoy a final breakfast in Lamjung before the scenic drive back to your starting point (Kathmandu or Pokhara), filled with memories of a truly unique and unforgettable cultural adventure.
