Tromsø: Snowmobile Safari with Aurora Crystal Lavvo Stay

Embark on a winter adventure from Tromsø. Join a snowmobile tour through the stunning Lyngen Alps, and enjoy sleeping in a cozy Crystal Lavvo with the chance to witness the Aurora dancing.
Welcome to Aurora Wonderland Basecamp
Located in beautiful Lyngen, our base camp is surrounded by breathtaking fjords, mountains, and islands. With a good distance from the city, you'll find minimal artificial light pollution—providing optimal conditions for viewing the northern lights.
Step into our Crystal Lavvo for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Sleep in a lavvo heated by a wood-burning fireplace for an authentic Arctic experience. Equipped with a glass ceiling so you can keep an eye on the sky at all times—even from the comfort of your bed.
Enjoy the freedom of having the whole night to search for the northern lights from the warmth and coziness of your lavvo. If you are lucky, you might even catch different “Releases” during the night.

Itinerary

Transportation to Basecamp: Enjoy a scenic journey from Tromsø, including a short ferry ride and beautiful views of mountains and fjords.

Activity: Upon arrival at the base camp, gear up with snowmobiling equipment, including suits, boots, and helmets. Our experienced English-speaking guide will teach you how to operate the snowmobile, followed by a short practice session before the tour begins.. Enjoy the ride as your guide leads you through the diverse terrain of Lyngen (The ride lasts approximately 60 to 90 minutes )

Evening: After dinner(see allergy list below), we will tell you about the northern light forecast and get the fire going in your lavvo.

Lavvo Experience: Once your lavvo is heated, one of our guides will bring you there and teach you how to keep the fire going and restart it if needed. Remember, the lavvo is heated by a wood-burning fireplace.

Enjoy: Spend the night in your warm and cozy Lavvo. You’ll have the whole night to search for the northern lights—whether relaxing under the Lavvo’s glass ceiling or wandering around the base camp.

Breakfast: The next morning, we serve a traditional Norwegian breakfast before starting the return trip to Tromsø (city center). Arrival is around 11:00 a.m.
