Discover the landscapes and cultural heritage of Áncash on a full-day trip from Huaraz to Llanganuco Lagoon and Chinancocha. Travel through the scenic Callejón de Huaylas and visit historic towns, mountain landscapes, and local artisan communities.
Start your journey at 9:00 AM from Huaraz and travel to Carhuaz, where you can try traditional fruit-based ice cream made with local ingredients.
Continue to Yungay and visit Campo Santo, located on the site of the former city that was buried by a devastating avalanche in 1970. Take time to walk around this historic site and learn about the history of the area.
Then enter Llanganuco Valley, part of Huascarán National Park, and continue to Chinancocha Lagoon. Admire the turquoise waters surrounded by high mountain peaks and enjoy free time to explore the trails around the lagoon. A boat ride is also available as an optional activity.
After visiting the lagoon, stop at a countryside restaurant for lunch and enjoy traditional regional dishes. Lunch is not included in the tour price.
Continue to a viewpoint with views of Huascarán, the highest mountain in Peru, before beginning the return journey to Huaraz.
On the way back, stop in Taricá, a town known for its local artisan traditions. Explore the area and, if you wish, purchase handmade crafts directly from local artisans.
The tour returns to Huaraz at approximately 7:30 PM.
