From Cusco: Full Day Private Tour to Vinicunca, Rainbow Mountain

Vinicunca, the Rainbow Mountain, challenges the traveler to reach 5,000 meters. Reaching its summit is a unique experience that you cannot miss during your visit to Cusco.
At 4:00 am, our vehicle will pick you up to begin a 1.5 hour drive to the south of Cusco, accompanied by the sound of the Vilcanota River. We will make our first stop in Cusipata, where the Lupita restaurant awaits us with a delicious breakfast: fruits, cereals, egg sandwich with chorizo and coffee. Afterwards, we ascend through the ravine to Phuluwasipata, where we will start a 4 km hike along the Chillihuani trail. Those who prefer can rent a horse for a faster ascent (additional cost).

The route, winding and gradual, will take us to the 5,000 m.a.s.l. of the impressive Vinicunca (Mountain of Colors). On sunny days, the colors of the mountain shine intensely, a unique spectacle. After enjoying the scenery, we return to Cusipata for a traditional lunch: regional soup, trout or chicken, and dessert with keke and ice cream, accompanied by chicha morada or local soft drink. Finally, we return to Cusco.

Our official tour guides carry oxygen and medicine against altitude sickness. It is advisable to have a good acclimatization (minimum 2 nights at altitude) to fully enjoy this experience.
