Explore the historic Inca citadel of Machu Picchu and the dizzying Huayna Picchu mountain on this day trip from Cuzco.
The 1-day tour to Huayna Machu Picchu begins with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco at 4 am.
After a 1 hour and 30 minute drive through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, you will arrive at the train station in Ollantaytambo, ready to board your train at 6:10 am. The 1 hour and 45 minute trip to Aguas Calientes will delight you with breathtaking landscapes of snow-capped mountains, Inca cultivation terraces, our tour guide will meet you at the train station and accompany you to the bus station in the town of Machu Picchu.

Together with our tour guide we will take a 30 minute bus ride up the mountain to the main gate of Machu Picchu. Here you will present your passports and entrance tickets and begin your 3 hour guided visit to the Inca citadel.

During the tour, your tour guide will take you on a journey through the rich history of the Inca sanctuary, and lead you past its famous sites to the legendary panoramic viewpoint. From there, you will be in the best position to enjoy the perfect view of Machu Picchu and the iconic bucket list photos you have been waiting for.

With a camera full of pictures, you'll continue with your tour guide through the ancient Inca streets to iconic landmarks such as the Temple of the Sun, the central plaza and the iconic stepped terraces. And before boarding the bus back down the mountain, your tour guide will also give you time to explore the mysteries of the sanctuary on your own.

Once you have met your tour guide and taken the bus back to Aguas Calientes , there will be time for lunch at one of the many restaurants in the Machu Picchu villages (optional), before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo .
There you will be met by your tour guide and transportation, who will take you on the 2 hour ride back to your hotel in Cusco. Arrival time in Cusco is approximately 8 pm.
