"Taste & Tale" isn't just any food tour – it's a journey through gastronomy, history, and identity. Before I became a city guide, I was the owner and chef of Beca's Kitchen, a popular bistro in Bucharest, for almost ten years. Today, I combine my passion for good food with my joy in storytelling - and that's what makes this tour unique.

We'll explore the old town at a relaxed pace, while stories about princes, kings, and dictators blend with the scent of fresh baked goods, traditional dishes – lovingly and modernly interpreted – and French-inspired desserts. We'll discover over 15 iconic sights and 3 carefully selected food stops that reflect the soul of Romanian cuisine – simple, authentic, full of character.
We'll start at St.Anton's Square, in the heart of the old town, and discover Curtea Veche, the former residence of Vlad the Impaler (Dracula), as well as Hanul lui Manuc, one of the last caravanserais in Europe.

1. Culinary stop – local snack
A popular traditional snack from a small neighborhood bakery – simple, honest, local.

At St. John's Church, you'll learn how the church was relocated and saved from communist destruction. Then we'll head to the Stavropoleos Church, a jewel of Brâncovenesque architecture, and to Caru' cu Bere, where neo-Gothic style and joie de vivre meet.
The CEC Palace and the Post Palace tell the story of the rise of modern Romania – the "Little Paris" – under King Carol I, while the Military Club Palace tells of the courage and loyalty of King Ferdinand, who was willing to fight against his own country for the unification of Romania.
The English Passage – once a hotel, later an exclusive brothel – tells of the hidden nights of King Carol II, while the Telephone Palace, Romania's first skyscraper, tells of the modernization and unrest of the 1930s.

2. Culinary stop – a hidden gem
Just a few steps from the center – close enough to get there easily, yet only locals know about it. Here we'll enjoy six samples of Romanian cuisine – traditional recipes, with a modern twist – accompanied by a drink of your choice.

At the Royal Palace & Revolution Square, we'll hear stories of resistance and change – from King Michael's coup in 1944 to the fall of Ceaușescu in 1989.
Interactive moment: "A Day in Communism" – a glimpse into everyday life in the 1980s.

3. Culinary stop - French dessert: A fine dessert with a French touch and local ingredients, considered by many to be the best in Bucharest.

Finally, we'll reach the Romanian Athenaeum, a symbol of national culture and civic pride – a perfect place to end this tour full of taste, history, and atmosphere.
