Lake Duluti: Canoeing, Nature Walk, and Add-on Options Kayaking, Nature Walk, & Coffee Tour

Journey to Lake Duluti and experience a coffee tour, nature trails with monkeys, and a canoe trip around the lake.
Visit Lake Duluti, a volcanic crater lake just outside of Arusha. Several species of animals call this calm body of water home and it's the ideal location for birdwatchers. At Duluti, we will take a guided canoe around the lake, spotting a variety of wildlife along the way. After canoeing, we will have lunch at a lakeside restaurant. Once we are done eating, we will then take a guided hike through the neighboring forest around the lake in search of vervet, black and white colobus monkeys, and other animals that live in the area.

There are options to add other activities while at the lake.

Before kayaking you can visit a nearby coffee plantation and learn the process of coffee production from a functioning organic farm.

There is a small waterfall nearby called Mangalia that you can visit after the nature walk in Duluti.

There is a local pottery studio where you can take an early afternoon lesson after the nature walk.

There is a larger waterfall on the way back from Duluti to Arusha that you can visit called Napuru. Due to the distance and length of the hike to Napuru, you would not be doing the nature walk in Duluti, but you would still have plenty of opportunities to see monkeys in both areas and while kayaking.
