Tanzania: 2-Day Lake Chala and Arusha National Park Safari

Day 1 Lake Chala
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll meet our guide for a briefing before heading out to Lake Chala. Situated near Tsavo National Park, the area offers the unique chance to spot large herds of elephants migrating between Kenya and Tanzania. The lake itself is a natural wonder, with its water shifting colors from turquoise to deep blue and green over time.

Fed by underground streams from Mount Kilimanjaro, Lake Chala is part of a fascinating ecosystem that includes the surrounding crater and its lush vegetation. On clear days, Kilimanjaro’s majestic peak looms in the background, adding to the lake’s stunning scenery. The area is teeming with wildlife, including diverse bird species and small mammals such as blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, baboons, dik-diks, and kudus.

One of the highlights is hiking down the steep crater walls to the water’s edge, offering spectacular views of the lake and its surroundings. After your hike, enjoy a picnic lunch in a serene spot. Swimming is possible, but it’s recommended to stay close to the shore.

Dinner and overnight will be arranged according to your selected accommodation.

Day 2 Arusha National Park - Airport
After breakfast meet our professional tour guide who will deliver a short briefing about safari before heading to Arusha National Park. This Park is the closest national park to both the famous Arusha as well as the Moshi town, thus making it ideal for 1-day tour. The park despite having abundant animals is also one of the most beautiful and topographically varied parks in Tanzania. The park’s three most significant features include the rugged Mount Meru, the notably different-colored Momela Lake, and the 3km wide Ngurdoto Crater, which was formed about fifteen million years ago.

We will enjoy an exciting morning game drive, lunch at a picnic, and an afternoon game drive, visiting both the Momela Lakes and the Ngurdoto Crater. Wildlife that could be seen include African buffalos, elephants, hippos, giraffes, warthogs, antelopes, zebras, blue monkeys, and sometimes a rare leopard or hyena. Late afternoon we depart and end our safari adventure where you will be taken to the Airport.
