Uganda: 4-Day Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park Tour

Embark on a 4-day tour from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Enjoy a gorilla trekking experience, a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi, and a stop at the Equator.

Day 1: Transfer From Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After breakfast, be met by your driver guide and then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Southwestern Uganda. En route to the park, stop at the Equator for a water experiment and photographs. Also, stop at Mpigi (Mpambire drum village) where you can watch ceremonial drums made out of local materials.

Proceed and have lunch in Mbarara town and then reach Bwindi in the evening in time for dinner and an overnight stay at Gorilla Resort Camp or Gorilla Forest Camp for Luxury/ Lake Kitandara tented camp or Silverback Lodge for mid-range/Buhoma community Bandas or Wagtail Safari Camp for Budget.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After an early morning breakfast, gather at Buhoma the Park headquarters for a briefing from the Ranger Guide of Uganda Wildlife Authority. Be briefed about the Gorilla tracking protocol and once this is done, set out with your packed lunch and penetrate the jungle forest to search for the rare Mountain Gorillas.

The time taken to track gorillas is unpredictable and it can take 2- 10 hours. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Resort Camp or Gorilla Forest Camp for Luxury/ Lake Kitandara tented camp or Silverback Lodge for mid-range/Buhoma community Bandas or Wagtail Safari Camp for Budget.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale, the place commonly known as the Switzerland of Africa. Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi to the most Islands on the Lake. Each Island is characterized by different bird species. Dinner and overnight at Bushara Island Camp/Arcadia cottages.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast, transfer back to Kampala with lunch en-route in Mbarara town. Reach Kampala in the afternoon/Kampala in the evening. Drop off will be at your hotel or airport for your flight back home.
