Your adventure kicks off in the morning with the iconic Bailong Elevator, the world’s tallest outdoor glass elevator. Ride up the sheer cliff face and step straight into Yuanjiajie, the real-life inspiration for Avatar’s floating Hallelujah Mountains. Wander along the mountain trails among towering quartz-sandstone pillars, drift through cloud-kissed valleys and capture the otherworldly vistas that made Zhangjiajie world-famous. Continue your hike onward to Tianzi Mountain, renowned for its sweeping panoramic viewpoints and sea of peaks rolling into the distance. When you finish exploring Tianzi Mountain, descend comfortably via the Tianzi Mountain Cable Car for a spectacular bird’s-eye view over the forested karst landscape below.
At 3 PM, transfer to Xiangxi Mansion to dive deep into Tujia heritage. Here you will witness genuine folk customs and watch artisans demonstrate Xilankapu, the celebrated Tujia brocade, a national intangible cultural heritage. Learn the stories hidden inside its bold geometric patterns, and understand how this ancient hand-weaving craft has been passed down for generations as the “wordless epic” of the Tujia people.

After the cultural visit, sit down for a hearty traditional Tujia Feast. Taste classic mountain flavours including smoked cured pork, wild pickled vegetables, bamboo-steamed sticky rice and local spicy specialities, all prepared with age-old Tujia recipes. It is a wonderful chance to savour the unique taste of Western Hunan.

At 7 PM, the evening highlight begins: the spectacular Charming Xiangxi Show. This grand folk stage production brings Tujia and Miao traditions alive with dancing, folk songs, drum performances and vivid reenactments of local rituals such as the Tujia crying wedding. It is the perfect finale after a day of natural wonders and cultural discovery.
