Your day begins with a comfortable pickup from your accommodation by your friendly, English-speaking guide. Lean back as you leave the bustling south behind and head into the cooler, volcanic highlands of Tabanan.
Your first stop is the breathtaking Pura Ulun Danu Beratan, a 17th-century Hindu temple built on the shores of Lake Beratan. When the morning mist rolls in, the shrine appears to float magically on the water’s surface. Your guide will share the spiritual significance of this water temple, which is dedicated to Dewi Danu, the goddess of lakes and rivers.
Next, you will wind through scenic mountain roads to reach the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Spanning over 600 hectares, this landscape offers some of the most dramatic panoramic views in Bali. Rather than just taking photos from afar, you will enjoy a leisurely 45-minute soft trek right through the fields. Here, your guide will explain Subak, Bali’s ancient, community-based irrigation system that reflects the philosophical concept of Tri Hita Karana (harmony between humans, nature, and the divine).
After working up an appetite, take a break at a local hillside restaurant to enjoy a traditional Balinese lunch (optional add-on) while overlooking the massive expanse of green terraces.
To top off your adventure, journey deep into a hidden valley to reach the pristine Leke Leke Waterfall. Take a short jungle trek down a shaded ravine, surrounded by giant ferns and tropical fauna, until you hear the thundering sound of crystal-clear water crashing into a natural pool. It is the perfect, refreshing spot to cool off, connect with nature, and snap unforgettable photos before your guide drives you safely back to your hotel.
