Discover a slower and more local side of Hangzhou on this private day tour. Instead of following the usual crowded sightseeing route, start your morning in a neighborhood breakfast lane where local residents begin their day with simple street-side food.

Walk through the short but lively lane with your guide and learn about Hangzhou’s everyday breakfast culture. Depending on what is open on the day, you may try local snacks such as soy milk, fried dough, noodles, or other seasonal bites.

Continue to Hu Xueyan’s Former Residence, a late Qing dynasty merchant mansion with traditional courtyards, gardens, and richly decorated rooms. Your guide will share stories about old Hangzhou’s business culture, trade, medicine, and daily life.

Around midday, take a flexible lunch break near Hefang Street or Southern Song Imperial Street. Your guide can recommend local Hangzhou dishes based on your preferences.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing hand-rowed or sculling boat ride on a quieter southern West Lake route, such as Wuguitan or Yuhu Bay, depending on weather and boat availability. Glide through calmer waters, bridges, and willow-lined scenery, with possible views of Leifeng Pagoda or the famous “one-yuan banknote” scene depending on the day’s route.

After the boat ride, return to your hotel by private car or end the tour near West Lake for your own free time.
