Descrizione

If you visit Bolivia, don't miss the Salar de Uyuni: an immense white desert with a wonderful mirror effect in the rainy season
Discover the wonders of the Bolivian Altiplano
Embark on an extraordinary two-day expedition that will show you the best of southwest Bolivia. Traveling in rugged 4WD vehicles with a strict limit of six passengers per group, this immersive trip combines the endless, surreal horizons of the world's largest salt desert with the hidden cultural treasures and dramatic landscapes of the Tomave region. It's the perfect getaway for travelers seeking both iconic natural wonders and authentic Andean history.
Day 1: Venturing into the infinite white desert
The adventure begins at 10:30 AM from the city of Uyuni, heading first to the evocative Train Cemetery to see rusty locomotives from the late 19th century. After learning about traditional salt processing in the artisan village of Colchani, you'll venture deep into the salt flats for an unforgettable experience. Here, you'll visit the historic Playa Blanca salt hotel, the iconic Plaza de las Banderas, and the Dakar landmark. The highlight of the day is a hike on Incahuasi Island, an oasis covered with giant, centuries-old cacti that offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the white expanse. After a fun perspective photo shoot and an optional golden sunset, you'll stay in a basic salt hostel in Colchani to enjoy a local dinner and a unique night's rest.
Day 2: Mining history and thermal relaxation
On the second day, the focus shifts to the beautiful and less-traveled highlands of Tomave. After breakfast, you'll stop at a spectacular vantage point to take in one last panoramic view of the salt flat. From there, you'll explore the rich history of silver mining in Pulacayo and admire the beautiful colonial church in the traditional village of Tomave. The ultimate reward awaits you at the local hot springs, where you can relax and soak in natural healing waters. Before heading back, you'll visit Laguna Verde to see llamas grazing and wild Andean birds in their natural habitat, arriving in the city of Uyuni at approximately 5:00 p.m. to conclude an unforgettable trip.
