With 12+ tastings across multiple stops, the tour is designed as a crash course in the flavours of Bahia from iconic street foods like acarajé to simple grilled snacks and deeper, slow-cooked dishes like ximxim de galinha.
The setting is a key part of the experience. You’ll ride the Elevador Lacerda, move through the cobbled streets of Pelourinho, and explore areas most visitors pass through without understanding.

✘ Unsuitable for vegan, halal diets, lactose intolerance and severe allergies as the number of tastings would be very limited.
✔ No pork diets, pescatarian, vegetarian, gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, mild tree nut / peanut allergies and no seafood diets are possible though some tastings do not have alternatives available.
We recommend comfortable shoes as this is an easy-paced walking tour.
We operate come rain or shine, so please carry rain gear/umbrella if rain looks likely.
There's lot of tastings to try, come hungry!
Meet outside the entrance of Galeria Mercado Modelo. If looking at the front of the Mercado Modelo market, it is the right hand corner entrance to the building. It is easily accessible by taxi or on foot from most of the city's central hotels. If you do need to get a taxi, we recommend downloading Uber which is the quickest and easiest way to book transport in the city.
