From Tirana: 2-Day Komani Lake, Shala River & Theth Tour

Explore the stunning landscapes of Albania on a 2-day tour from Tirana. Cruise through Komani Lake, swim in Shala River, hike to Grunas Waterfall, and visit the Blue Eye of Theth.
Day 1: Tirana – Komani Lake – Shala River – Theth

Begin your adventure with an early morning departure from your hotel in Tirana, Durrës, or Golem. Drive north to Komani Lake, a journey of approximately 3 hours.

Board a boat and cruise through Komani Lake, often referred to as the Albanian fjord, with breathtaking views of the steep green mountains. Stop at Shala River (Lumi i Shalës) to relax, swim, or enjoy lunch by the turquoise river.

In the afternoon, return by boat to Komani, then continue by car to Theth, crossing Qafë Mali pass. Arrive in Theth village in the evening. Enjoy a traditional dinner and an overnight stay in a cozy guesthouse surrounded by the Albanian Alps.

Day 2: Theth – Grunas Waterfall – Blue Eye – Return

After breakfast at the guesthouse, visit Grunas Waterfall, a 30-meter-high natural wonder just a short hike from the village. Continue toward The Blue Eye of Theth (Syri i Kaltër), one of Albania’s most beautiful natural springs, famous for its deep blue color.

Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant or have a picnic by the river. In the afternoon, depart for Tirana, Durrës, or Golem, a drive of around 5–6 hours. Arrive at your destination in the evening.
