Explore Addis Ababa on a city tour, visit the Debre Libanos Monastery, and see the Portuguese Bridge. Enjoy panoramic views, explore the bustling Mercato, and savor a traditional Ethiopian lunch.
Begin your tour by driving to Mount Entoto/ Entoto Natural Park, located in Addis Ababa. Enjoy a serene and spacious environment with breathtaking views. Situated atop Mt. Entoto, the state-run park is perfect for relaxation, mountain climbing, and hillwalking.

Take in a panoramic view of the city from a platform and use telescopes for magnified views. The park features well-maintained tarmac walking and cycling trails, making it an ideal escape from the city's hustle and bustle.

Next, head to the Kechene Medhanialem area of Addis Ababa, known for its pottery tradition. Learn about the community of potters who work around the Kechene Medhanialem Church. Discover how the modern Kechene Women's Pottery Cooperative was established in 1991 with support from the ILO and UNDP to help women become self-employed and preserve their traditional craft.

Continue to Addis Mercato, a bustling and vibrant open-air market in Addis Ababa. It proudly boasts of being the largest of its kind in Africa and possibly even on the entire planet. Despite its chaotic and crowded nature, strolling through this market is an incredibly entertaining experience that showcases the lively character of the city.

Take a lunch break at Addis Ababa Restaurant in Piazza, offering an authentic Ethiopian dining experience. Indulge in the unique flavors of Injera, a sour fermented pancake-like flatbread made from teff flour, paired with the exquisite Ethiopian honey wine known as Tej.

After lunch, visit Tomoca Coffee, a family-owned gem that has been delighting coffee enthusiasts since its inception in February 1953. This iconic establishment not only embodies the rich heritage of Ethiopian coffee culture but also specializes in Italian-style brews that have garnered international acclaim.

Finish the day by taking you back to your hotel. The next day, drive from Addis Ababa to Debre Libanos Monastery and Portuguese Bridge. It is located 105 km northwest of Addis Ababa, taking two and a half hours of scenic driving to get to this historical and one of the respected monasteries in Ethiopia. It was founded in the 13th century by Saint Tekle Haymanot.

Visit the museum that has a lot of ancient bible books collection with religious crosses, clothes, and some traditional material it was used within the monastery during the previous time. See the internal parts of the church with the tomb of the founder of the Monastery with beautiful stain glass windows.

Later, visit the Portuguese bridge built by the Portuguese during the 16th century with a beautiful landscape and, if you're lucky, one of Ethiopian endemic Mammals Chelada Monkey. Finally, have lunch in front of a beautiful Jemma river gorge. After lunch, return to Addis. On the way, have a chance to see some birds, traditional Ethiopian huts, and farmlands.
