Enjoy an ice fishing initiation using the Pilkki, the Nordic fishing rod, on Bodom Lake. See the largest lake in the region, located just 25 minutes from central Helsinki, and savor traditional foods with Backpacker Helsinki Tour.
On the lake, we will walk to find the ideal place where there is the best chance of catching fish. I will then explain how to make a hole in the ice and how to use the pilkki. Then it's up to you! You will be ready to catch lots of fish!
In the end, in a Laavu, a traditional refuge, I will make a fire to grill the Makara, the traditional sausages. There is also an option for vegetarians. I will also serve you delicious glögi and piparri, traditional cookies. We'll drive back to Helsinki center.
