The journey begins at Rifugio Sapienza, located at an altitude of about 2,000 meters on the slopes of Mount Etna. Here you will be immersed in a spectacular setting dominated by lunar landscapes, lava flows, and volcanic craters. The first stop will be a visit to the old Silvestri craters, evidence of the volcano's impressive eruptive activity. Walking among these craters, you can admire the extraordinary force of nature up close and be captivated by the majesty of Mount Etna.

Your trekking will continue towards the craters of the 2001 eruption, where you will have the opportunity to observe the unique geological formations created by recent volcanic activity. During the route, you will also visit a striking lava flow cave, a fascinating place that will allow you to enter the heart of the volcano and discover up close the natural phenomena that have shaped this unique territory.

Throughout the hike, you will be accompanied by a tour leader who will share interesting facts and information about Mount Etna, its volcanic activity, the flora and fauna of the Park, and the geological features that make this area one of the most fascinating in the Mediterranean.

At the end of the hike, you will reach a renowned winery located on the fertile slopes of Mount Etna, where the volcanic soil and the unique microclimate give rise to wines of extraordinary quality. Here you will enjoy an authentic experience dedicated to the flavors of the region, surrounded by vineyards and with a splendid view of the volcano.

The experience includes a guided tasting of four wines representative of local production, accompanied by a rich food tasting featuring carefully selected typical Sicilian specialties. You will taste preserves in oil, typical cheeses, local salami, extra virgin olive oil produced on the farm, a boiled egg, a seasonal soup or cream soup, grilled sausage served with baked potatoes and spinach, and finish with a traditional Sicilian mini cannolo filled with ricotta. Water and bread are included during the food tasting.

During the experience, you will also have the opportunity to learn about the Etna wine tradition, the characteristics of the volcanic soils, and the particular production process that makes these wines appreciated worldwide.
