Day 1: Nairobi – Chyulu Hills – Hunters Lodge

Depart from Nairobi early in the morning and drive along the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway towards the Chyulu Hills region.

Arrive at Hunters Lodge in time for lunch and check-in.

After lunch, enjoy a relaxed afternoon nature walk around the lodge grounds. The area is rich in birdlife and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

Later, visit a nearby Maasai community for a cultural experience. Learn about Maasai traditions, daily life, livestock practices, traditional homes, songs, and dances.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full-Day Chyulu Hills Exploration

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day excursion into Chyulu Hills National Park.

Your first stop is the famous Shetani Lava Flow, a dramatic black lava field created by volcanic activity centuries ago. Learn about the geological history of the region while enjoying excellent photography opportunities.

Continue to Leviathan Cave, one of the longest lava tube cave systems in Africa. Explore sections of the cave and discover how volcanic activity shaped the Chyulu ecosystem.

Proceed to several scenic viewpoints within the hills where, on clear days, you may enjoy spectacular views of:

Mount Kilimanjaro
Tsavo Plains
The rolling Chyulu Hills landscape

Enjoy a picnic lunch in a scenic location before continuing with nature exploration and wildlife viewing. The Chyulu ecosystem is home to elephants, buffaloes, bushbucks, giraffes, and numerous bird species.

Return to Hunters Lodge in the late afternoon.
