Ready to discover Morocco from the mountains to the Sahara? Join our Fes to Marrakech: 4-Day Sahara Desert Tour & Camel Trek for golden dunes, ancient kasbahs, local traditions, and breathtaking scenery. Enjoy two nights in Merzouga and time to truly discover the desert!
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Your adventure begins in Fes! Travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains via Ifrane and the cedar forest near Azrou, where Barbary macaques may be spotted. Pause for lunch near Midelt at your own expense, then admire the palm-filled Ziz Valley and travel through Erfoud toward Merzouga. Watch the Erg Chebbi dunes appear! Our team transfers your luggage to camp by 4x4 while you enjoy a sunset camel trek. Try sandboarding, settle into your desert tent, and savor an included dinner followed by traditional music under the stars, weather permitting.
Day 2: Merzouga – Sahara Discovery – Second Desert Night
Wake up to the peaceful Sahara and enjoy breakfast near the dunes. Today is yours to experience Merzouga at a slower pace! If your selected option includes a guided 4x4 desert tour, explore striking landscapes with a guide, discover Khamlia's musical heritage, and explore nomadic traditions when available. A traditional Berber pizza lunch may be purchased separately. If your option does not include the excursion, enjoy free time at camp or around Merzouga. Return for dinner and your second magical desert night.
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Tinghir
Welcome the morning with a sunrise camel ride and breakfast, arranged around the day's schedule. Rejoin your driver after our 4x4 team transfers your luggage from camp. Travel through Erfoud toward Tinghir, enjoy traditional Sahara attire and complimentary henna, and marvel at the dramatic cliffs of Todra Gorge. Join a guided walk through Tinghir's palm oasis, then continue toward the Valley of Roses for dinner and an overnight stay. Lunch is at your own expense.
Day 4: Valley of Roses – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, enjoy scenic views around the Valley of Roses and Skoura. Pass through Ouarzazate without a scheduled stop, then discover UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou with a guide. Cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n'Tichka Pass, with breaks when possible, before arriving in Marrakech for your final drop-off.
Choose your perfect Sahara escape: Classic Shared Sahara features a standard desert camp; Luxury Sahara offers a luxury camp with a private ensuite tent. Luxury Sahara with Guided 4x4 adds the guided desert excursion, while Private Sahara with Guided 4x4 includes private transport and a private guided exploration. All options include two Merzouga nights, one Valley of Roses night, three breakfasts, three dinners, sunset and sunrise camel rides, sandboarding, and guided cultural visits. Lunches and drinks are excluded.
