This remarkable woman of German origin devoted over 50 years to the study and protection of the Nazca Lines, making significant contributions to our understanding of these ancient geoglyphs. The museum itself is housed in what was once Reiche's home for more than two decades before being transformed into a site museum in 1994.

At the Sitio María Museum, you'll gain fascinating insights into María Reiche's life and work through a collection of photographs capturing her extensive efforts in the Nazca desert. The museum also preserves her study cabin, where you can see her personal belongings, including cameras, measuring instruments, and other artifacts that she used in her research. Adjacent to the museum lies María Reiche's tomb, where she was laid to rest in 1998, a testament to her enduring legacy in the field of archaeology.

Following this enriching visit, we continue our journey to the metal tower known as the Mirador de las Líneas de Nazca.
